On International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate equality. To us here at Cedar Bay, this means working in an inclusive working environment. An environment where people and ideas are respected, regardless of gender, sex, ethnicity, or religion. Whilst we celebrate the excellent work that our employees do every day, we want to take International Women’s Day 2023 to really give a shout-out to the women in our workplace.

Typically, the technology industry can be deemed as male-dominated. In 2021, only 25% of jobs in technology were held by women. This is where we want to encourage change. We want to create a community where we close the gender gap within the world of ERP and technology, and encourage everyone regardless of gender, to embrace the sector and see a difference. Increasing diversity brings advantages to business, with new knowledge, different experiences and diverse skill sets. It’s important to recognise the power of increasing gender diversity within the industry.

At Cedar Bay, we have a great level of diversity that brings so much value to our business. Women cover a variety of roles, make up key members of our leadership team and ensure that they have a voice within the company.

Below you can see just a small insight into some of the roles that women within the business cover, their experiences as a woman in tech, and how they have helped transformed Cedar Bay into what it is today.

Charlotte Martinez, Project Consultant at Cedar Bay

“As a woman with a degree in Engineering, I have spent most of my career working in male dominating environments. However, it has allowed me to discover and develop skills that I otherwise would not have. I help clients to achieve the best solution for managing projects within their business using IFS, combining my experience as a former project manager, IFS capability to integrate every part of the business within the projects module, and the best project management practices.”

“Everyday is different. My main role is to help allocate the consultant’s time. The requests I receive vary and cover many different industries. I spend a lot of time undertaking admin work and alongside that, helping different departments where needed. I really enjoy my job and the people I interact with on a daily basis”

Mish Ypp

“When I graduated, I didn’t really think a role in tech would be available, or of any interest to me. However, over the past few years, I have expanded my knowledge considerably and worked with customers in many different industries. ERP software is an ever-changing landscape, and it’s exciting to be involved.”

Always support each other and help each other grow to become better work colleagues, friends, wives, partners, sisters, daughters, aunts and nieces. Happy international women’s day.”
