Who are First Milk?

This year we joined the IFS UK&I Summer Conference and alongside First Milk we discussed their journey of upgrading to IFS Applications 10. First Milk is a wholly British farmer-owned dairy co-operative with creameries based in the Lake District and South West Wales. The company produces award-winning cheddar, regional cheeses, dairy ingredients, and market fresh milk through collaborative milk sourcing and supply chain management services. First Milk’s Michael Dick and our Sales Manager, Jo Rosser, joined forces to talk all things upgrading and how our team helped First Milk upgrade to IFS Applications 10.

First Milk’s IFS Applications 10 Upgrade

This session showed how as a company First Milk have seen real business improvements through their upgrading process. The main focus of this particular upgrade was to improve business processes around the use of their solution and it was vitally important that the business viewed this upgrade as more than just a technical upgrade. Michael and Jo covered the best way to plan an implementation, whilst also providing useful insights into how to best engage users across the business for big projects like this.

Prior to their upgrade First Milk were dealing with a heavily modified version of IFS Applications 7  and upgrading provided them with an opportunity to remove these modifications, realign their processes and refresh training with all their users. With a new business vision and direction, First Milk’s needs had significantly changed since their initial implementation of IFS Applications and this upgrade helped to reflect and support this.
